I think the version on Knockin on the Garcia Plays Dylan has some of the finest playing of Jerrys career, its truly incredible. I will go so far as to say that this is probably the best peformance of this song ever by anyone whos ever played it

Just as a side note, Postcards of the Hanging is a pretty cool compilation of the Dead doing Dylan.

Aside from the Knockin', is the rest of that CD worth it? I've considered buying it (and I might as well since it's like $20), but have always had doubts.

I have it. I enjoy most tracks. Nice variety of JGB and GD. Picking up from yesterday's thread on mix tapes, I favor the contours of a show to cherry picking, which might be why I don't listen to it as much as others.
